Catalysis for sustainable hydrogen production

Join us at the University of Manchester on the 12 December for an in person meeting on hydrogen production hosted by the UK Catalysis Hub. This one-day event is designed to bring together researchers across disciplines to explore new frontiers in hydrogen production and sustainable catalytic processes. Through a series of short talks and discussion, we aim to spark collaborations and develop project concepts around shared research challenges.

Topics covered include:
    •    Generation
    •    Storage
    •    Utilisation
    •    Abatement

Speakers include:

Dr. Lizzie Ashton, Loughborough - Low cost green hydrogen generation using battery electrolysers

Prof. Andrew Beale, UCL/Finden Ltd

Prof. Sonya Calnan, Loughborough - Electro-catalyst stability for hydrogen generation under intermittent power conditions

Dr. Abolfazl Ghaderian, UCL - Ruthenium-Catalysed Water Oxidation for H2 Generation: From Intermediates to Design Principles

Prof. Christopher Hardacre, Manchester

Prof. Laurie King, Manchester Metropolitan University

Asst. Prof. Nathan Skillen, Heriot Watt - Grey, Blue, Green or even Gold Hydrogen…why do we have so many colours for a colourless gas

Prof. Shanwen Tao, Warwick

Prof. Mi Tian, Bath - Neutron Scattering for Hydrogen Storage Materials from Fundamentals to Manufacture

Prof. Laura Torrente, Cambridge

Prof. Magda Titirici, Imperial College London - High-Throughput Electrocatalysis for a Circular Hydrogen Economy: From OER to Waste Valorisation

Prof. Jin Xuan, University of Surrey - Using green hydrogen for net zero chemicals manufacturing
