You are invited to the Dynamics of Chemical Change Town Hall event, which is part of the community building for the new Relativistic Ultrafast Electron Diffraction & Imaging (RUEDI) facility for the UK. RUEDI represents a £125 million investment from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and is the only facility in the world offering relativistic ultrafast electron diffraction and imaging capabilities.
The event will be held on Thursday 10th July at Crewe Hall, Cheshire. The event will focus on user community building across the Chemical Sciences and on defining an outline science programme proposal for Day-1 experiments at the RUEDI facility.
The day will be divided into a morning session of introductory and overview talks and discussion with the RUEDI leadership team. Then, all participants are invited to present science and research ideas. These presentations in the afternoon session, will then be worked up into outline proposals in breakout group discussion sessions.
As such, this is a unique opportunity for all participants to contribute to the design, development and most importantly the execution of novel ultrafast electron diffraction and imaging experiments.
RUEDI, funded by the EPSRC as part of the UKRI Infrastructure Funds, and in partnership with the University of Liverpool, the Rosalind Franklin Institute, and STFC Daresbury, will be the world’s first facility of its kind.
This event will be hosted by Professors Sven L M Schroeder (Dynamics of Chemical Change science theme lead, University of Leeds, Diamond Light Source) and Nigel Browning (Director of RUEDI, University of Liverpool), and is organised to run consecutively with the Quantum Materials and Processes science theme Town Hall, on 9th July, also at Crewe Hall.
