Call for Expressions of Interest to join the UKCC Organising Committee Membership
The UK Catalysis Conference (UKCC) is an independent academic meeting dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge, education, and community building across the full breadth of catalysis. UKCC brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss advances in catalysis, foster collaboration, and inspire the next generation of researchers.
As we begin planning for UKCC 2027, we invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from members of the UK catalysis community who wish to join the UKCC Organising Committee.
About the Role
The Organising Committee is responsible for the strategic planning, scientific programme, sponsorship engagement, and delivery of UKCC
Committee members contribute to:
Shaping the vision and themes of the conference
Developing a high-quality scientific programme (plenary, keynote, invited and contributed talks, and posters)
Ensuring balance across the breadth of catalysis, including:
Homogeneous catalysis
Heterogeneous catalysis
Biocatalysis
Electrocatalysis and photocatalysis
Data and digital approaches to catalysis
Industrial catalysis and catalytic engineering
Supporting engagement with sponsors and exhibitors
Promoting inclusion, transparency and financial responsibility
Encouraging participation of early career researchers (ECRs) and students
The Committee normally meets monthly during active planning periods (online), with additional activity as deadlines approach.
Committee members typically serve a term of up to three years, with staggered membership to ensure continuity.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from all members of the UK catalysis community, including those working in:
Fundamental and applied catalysis
Catalytic engineering and scale-up
Industrial catalysis and translation
Data science and digital approaches to catalysis
Emerging and interdisciplinary areas
We particularly encourage expressions of interest from individuals who would help broaden the Committee’s:
Scientific expertise
Career stage representation (including ECRs)
Institutional and geographic spread
Industry–academia balance
Diversity in its broadest sense
We are committed to fostering an inclusive and representative committee that reflects the breadth of the UK catalysis community.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
Are committed to supporting the UK catalysis community
Can contribute constructively to strategic and scientific discussions
Are willing to dedicate time to planning and delivery activities
Value inclusive, transparent, and collaborative working
Prior committee experience is not required.
How to Apply
Please complete the short Expression of Interest form below and return it to Josie Goodall (josie.goodall@rc-harwell.ac.uk ) by 31st March.
