You will be employed by the University of Heidelberg as a research assistant (postdoc).
- You will be in charge of a joint project between the University of Heidelberg and BASF SE on industrially relevant topics.
- Within the project, you will have frequent meetings with people from BASF and the University of Heidelberg.
- Presenting your work at conferences and in publications is also expected.
- You will work on the development of new catalyst systems, which includes characterization of organometallic compounds, reactions in autoclaves, catalysis, organic synthesis, mechanistic investigations, experiment planning, and the use of screening equipment.
- You will set a focus on the use of Renewables and Sustainable Polymer Chemistry (e.g. ChemCycling).
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Ph.D. in organic, organometallic, or molecular-based inorganic chemistry
- experience in homogeneous catalysis, organometallic chemistry and/or polymer chemistry
- hands-on experience in preparing and characterizing air-sensitive as well as temperature-labile compounds
- very good skills and knowledge in synthesis
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- please attach a curriculum vitae, a publication list, and a letter of motivation (in English). In the motivation letter, please state what you expect from a PostDoc position at CaRLa and how your skills fit with the research profile of CaRLa
