Beamline Scientist Position at the Spanish Beamline “SPLINE” at ESRF Grenoble

 The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is seeking a beamline scientist for the Spanish beamline “SPLINE,” located at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France. The selected candidate will relocate to Grenoble for a 5 years period, and will assume full responsibility for the management and leadership of the SPLINE beamline, overseeing a dedicated team and ensuring beamline operations together with the beamline responsible. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Working together with the beamline responsible, They will supervise the team of three postdoc, a technician, and administrative staff. They will guarantee the proper administrative and technical conditions to support users conducting experiments as allocated by the program committee, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards imposed by ESRF. They will oversee the enhancement and upkeep of the beamline’s technical capabilities. 

Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline. 
  • Extensive experience with synchrotron radiation techniques is required, with desirable expertise in the available techniques at the beamline, such as single crystal diffraction or HAXPES. 
  • Proven leadership and management skills in an international research environment.
