Lecturer in Computational Chemistry and Scientific Computing at University of Bristol

The School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol is looking to appoint a lecturer on the Teaching and Scholarship Pathway. The purpose of the job will be to deliver teaching within the School of Chemistry, and to support pedagogical innovation across the undergraduate curriculum by developing and implementing effective teaching, learning and assessment methods.

What will you be doing?

You will be involved in a range of undergraduate teaching activities in the School, including small group tutorials, lectures, computational chemistry laboratory classes, workshops, and support classes using a range of effective approaches. You will set and mark coursework, examinations and other assessment tasks.

You will be primarily involved in delivering teaching and teaching support across all undergraduate programmes, with an emphasis on Computational and Theoretical chemistry.  You will assist in providing high levels of pastoral care to students in conjunction with the student support and wellbeing teams.

You should apply if

Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemistry or other relevant subject and have significant experience of teaching in higher education.
