Postdoctoral position at the SUNCAT Center for Interface Science and Catalysis at Stanford University

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the SUNCAT Center for Interface Science and Catalysis at Stanford University / SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The successful candidate will play an important role in developing tight-binding models for transition-metal alloy catalysts. The successful candidate will furthermore apply these models in collaboration with experimental and machine-learning efforts at the SUNCAT Center for a deeper understanding of and aiming at the design of new electrocatalysts, respectively.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

– A PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related field

– A strong background in computational physics or chemistry

– Proficiency in programming and data analysis with Python

– Proficiency in modeling surface reactions using density functional theory

– The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse research team

The position is open now and it is initially for one year with possibility of extension for another year based on performance and mutual consent.

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) internal equity, budget availability, and the qualifications of the selected candidate.
