University of Oxford Black Academic Futures
Academic Futures is a scholarship programme that aims to increase academic excellence by widening opportunities for exceptional students from socio-economically disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds.
Up to 100 full Academic Futures scholarships are available for students starting in 2027/28 across various eligibility routes, with the awards made possible through the generous support of the University and many partners, including colleges, departments, divisions and external donors.
Each scholarship will cover your course fees in full and will provide you with a grant for living costs. Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for your course. Academic Futures scholarships for DPhil courses provide a grant for living costs for four years as standard
In addition to the scholarship funding, Academic Futures Scholars have the option of an on-course support programme. This includes dedicated induction activities, and the chance to meet other AF Scholars through networking and social events.
