Dr Chedly Tizaoui, CEng, FIChemE, FHEA is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Swansea University. His research interests include water and wastewater treatment, advanced oxidations processes (AOPs), ozonation, separation technologies, and emerging contaminants. He is currently leading several research projects aiming to develop novel water and wastewater treatment technologies using catalytic advanced oxidation processes based on ozone, non-thermal plasma, and membranes. Throughout his academic career, Dr Tizaoui has devoted himself to research and scholarly activities and has played a significant role in contributing towards various fundamental and applied collaborative research projects in the field of water and wastewater treatment processes. He has supervised to successful completion over 20 PhD and Postdoc researchers and has published over 100 paper in peer reviewed journals and international conferences as well as authoring technical reports for several organisations. His research into water treatment technologies has been funded by major funding bodies including the Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering and industry. He has been the head of the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Portfolio at Swansea University, a core member of the Head of Chemical Engineering UK, and core member of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineeringās Research Committee. He is Associate Editor of Ozone: Science and Engineering (Taylor & Francis), and Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration (Springer Nature). He is member of the International Ozone Association and member of the EU PhD School of Advanced Oxidation Processes. Given his international expertise in ozone and water treatment technologies, he has organised and hosted the 2016 EA3G international conference on ozone and advanced oxidation for the water-energy-food-health nexus. He sits on the editorial boards of a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals and been a reviewer for many international funding bodies.
