Expertise:
Robert Raja is Professor of Materials Chemistry and Catalysis at the University of Southampton and his Research Group have a proven international reputation, both in academia and industry, for the discovery and design of novel catalytic materials that address fundamental challenges in the chemical, environmental and energy landscape. His research expertise is in the predictive rational design of high-performance single-site heterogeneous catalysts, which has been established on the basis of a detailed structural and spectroscopic understanding of catalysis at the nanoscale. The holistic design approach that is being developed in his Group ensures that catalytic active sites can be atomically-engineered within nanoporous and nanoparticulate systems, for a diverse range of large-scale chemical technologies, spanning Multifunctional Hybrid Materials to Catalysts for CO2 Utilisation.
