The Catalysis Hub III introduces a new flexible fund into its mechanisms to support the UK community. This funding is specifically designed to support high-risk, high-reward proof of concept and feasibility studies. These are generally envisaged to be short-term, ranging from 1-6 months, and will often support building of partnerships. The goal of all these flexible fund projects is to support larger-scale grant applications and to maximise leverage. All projects will support the objectives of Hub III and the research will be expected to align with one, or more, of the research themes.

Short-Term POC Support
  • Proof of concept funding for ECRs
  • Feasibility studies with industry
  • National and international secondments
Key criteria
  • Alignment with the Hub research themes
  • Short term (1-6 months)
  • Clear pathways for leverage and / or future follow-on funding
  • Secondments require specific experiments, techniques, knowledge transfer, or implementation goals

The Call will open in May 2025.

Resource

Please note the budget for projects is set across the Hub by what was granted by EPSRC in the grants and thus is fixed.
