We would like to invite you to apply for beamtime as part of our Block allocation group (BAG) access to the Core XAFS beamline B18 at Diamond Light source. Because of COVID-19 restrictions no external users are allowed at DLS but we have been in conversation with our colleagues at B18 and we are able to offer ex situ experiments. These will be performed on pellets via remote access.
The total time available for this call will 3 days. This allocation has not been scheduled and we are liaising with Diamond to finalise dates. However we anticipate that this beamtime will be towards the end of February 2021. We are therefore taking the opportunity to send the call for proposals and ask you to submit a proposal for ex situ experiments using this form or through the BAG pages https://ukcatalysishub.co.uk/bag-at-diamond-light-source/
The deadline for submissions is Friday 29 January 2021 (23.59 h) and forms should be submitted to Dr Martin Wilding (WildingM2@cardiff.ac.uk). Please use B18BAG_2021_1 in the subject line (not using the correct subject may result in your submission being missed and not reviewed).
In view of the exceptional circumstances we encourage you to contact us (through Dr Martin Wilding) prior to submission to discuss the feasibility of any potential experiment (including the sample composition, the number of samples and absorption edges of interest).
