Postdoctoral Research Associate in Polymer Chemistry at University of Edinburgh

A Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position is available starting from ca. July 1st 2024 for 12 months. 

The PDRA will be supervised by Dr Jennifer Garden and is based in the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), and is funded through the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship programme. This project is part of a larger endeavour studying the synthesis and application of novel block copolymers, and focuses on the preparation and characterisation of new polymer materials.

This project requires a highly motivated candidate, with a PhD in polymer chemistry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ring-opening and/or olefin polymerisation as well as some experience in characterising the mechanical, thermal and/or rheological properties of polymer materials. The candidate should be capable of working under their own initiative, performing collaborative projects and leading a small research team.
