The Institute of Chemical research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER.
The position is affiliated with the group of Prof. Mónica H. Pérez-Temprano, who works on the development of innovative and more sustainable first-row transition metal-catalyzed transformations by using mechanisms as a powerful reaction design tool. Specifically, the successful candidate will be involved in the design and development of novel first-row transition metal redox catalysis.
The position will include the following tasks:
- Synthesis and characterization and organometallic complexes and organic molecules
- Mechanistic studies applying a broad array of analytic techniques
- Writing lab reports and drafting manuscripts for scientific articles
- Mentoring of PhD students in the group
- Maintenance of the laboratory equipment
- Attending national and international conferences to present the most relevant research results
We are looking for an outstanding chemist with a strong synthetic and organometallic background and experience in mechanistic investigations and/or kinetic studies. Expertise in air-sensitive techniques and general analytical tools is also fundamental. The ideal candidate is expected to be highly motivated, creative, capable of working autonomously, responsible and team player. Excellent communication and management skills, along with reliability in meeting commitments and deadlines are also requested.
