Assistant Professor in Computational Chemistry / Data Science at Durham University

The Department of Chemistry at Durham University seeks to appoint a talented individual to the role of Assistant Professor. We welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in the broad field of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry / Data Science. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who will strengthen and/or complement our existing strengths in quantum dynamics, quantum chemistry, materials chemistry, biological simulation, and soft matter modelling, as well as applicants with expertise in data-led chemistry. 

This post offers an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the development of internationally-excellent research and teaching. The successful candidate will have access to Durham’s superb facilities, including our High-Performance Computer System, Hamilton. The appointee will be expected to cultivate an internationally-leading research group and to engage in the full Departmental range of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the development of the Chemistry stream for postgraduate teaching (PGT) courses in Computational Chemistry and/or Data Science.
