IV-UKEM 2020: UK Emission Control Workshop

When: 22 October 2020, 10:00 BST
Where: Virtual

The fourth UK Emission Control Workshop will take place on the 22nd of October 2020. It will be offered online due to the unprecedented circumstances.

This interactive workshop will offer an open forum for technical discussion about the current challenges facing the automotive industry and provide experts from industry and academia the opportunity to share knowledge and ground-breaking technologies with colleagues from around the UK.

The workshop will discuss significant research and the challenges of future regulation in a multi-pronged approach, investigating advanced combustion regimes, alternative fuels, and next-generation emissions control technology.

Speakers include:
Matthew Keenan (Ricardo) – Future emissions legislation and the impact on exhaust emissions control
Noelia Cortes Felix (Johnson Matthey) – Hydrocarbon traps for gasoline applications
Hassan Raza (University of Edinburgh) – University of Edinburgh Fresh Air radio podcast
Jose M. Herreros (University of Birmingham/Repsol) – Short procedure for assessment of fuel effets on three-way catalysts gaseous and particle removal efficiency
Claire McAtee (Queen’s University Belfast) – Synthetic bench testing and modelling of the performance and characteristics of automotive catalyst formulations for ethanol-fuel exhaust gas emissions
Francisco Garcia-Garcia (The University Of Edinburgh) – Micro-structured catalytic converter for residual methane emission abatement
Todd Toops (Oak Ridge National Laboratory) – Low temperature emissions reduction with zeolite-based adsorbers
Marcos Schöneborn (Sasol Germany GmbH) – New alumina-based support materials for future emission control catalysts
Evangelos Papaioannou (Newcastle University) – Exsolution of catalytically active Iridium nanoparticles for emission control
Dragos Neagu (University of Strathclyde) – Confined nanoparticles: formation, emission control and beyond

UKEM will serve as a powerful motivator for the continued growth of the automotive mobility industry and its contributors.
